Victorian, circa 1870. 4.3ins high, 15.7ins wide, 6.7ins depth. George Jones Majolica tureen with cover which features a mackerel fish lying on a bed of fern leaves and reeds.
Colouration: yellow, green, grey, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery. Bears a pattern number, '2764'.
CONDITION: Cover: Good. RESTORATION. Tail fins reglued and join retouched.
Retouched flake to bottom lip.
Dish: Good. KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the interior;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the interior and exterior.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline to base interior. No restoration present on exterior.
