Our site at Canterbury Road East in Ramsgate, was first established in 1936 when the then owner Charlie Philpott, built a garage specialising in the sales and servicing of motorbikes. The business ran successfully until the outbreak of World War II when the site was requisitioned by the army and returned to commercial use at the end of hostilities. Built in the fashionable Art Deco style of the time, the original building was single storey, with the upper floor and extra workshop space being added as the business prospered. Philpotts Garage continued into the 1960's when the site became a petrol station - the canopy is still in place. Then in the 1980's, the site reverted back to sales and serving, operating as V-Wise - a German car specialist. Then finally as The German Car Centre before Pierremonts bought the site in 2006. Pierremonts was established in 1988 as a family-owned business in Broadstairs offering servicing, mot's, car and van hire and a selection of used cars for sale. In 2006 we moved to larger premises at our current site in Ramsgate allowing us to double the size of our used car forecourt and increase the number of workshop ramps from two to six along with state-of-the art diagnostic equipment, a computerised rolling road and a dedicated mot testing area. On vehicles up to 10 years old a top-of-the range Platinum warranty is included along with 12 months complimentary roadside assistance cover, and on vehicles from 10 to 15 years old, RAC’s Gold warranty is supplied. We also offer the opportunity to extend your warranty to a full year which also comes with an upgrade from the standard £1000 limit per claim to the value of the car per claim and again, includes complimentary roadside assistance cover and a big saving on the normal retail cost.
