💡 What They Are

Rigid, transparent acrylic (PMMA) rods with intense fluorescent colour running through the material. Smooth, glossy finish. Glow brighter under UV/blacklight, but look vivid even in normal light.

Cut them, shape them, glue them to your models — instant energy weapons, lasers, antennas, power conduits, crystal effects, and anything else that needs to look like it's radiating energy.

📏 Size Guide

1.6 mm	Thin rods — spear tips, thin swords, antennas, handrails, small laser beams, fine crystal shards. Best for 28–32 mm scale where thicker rods look oversized.
2.4 mm	Thick rods — power swords, halberds, masts, reactor columns, chunky crystals, energy conduits. Better for larger models, vehicles, mechs, and diorama features.

🛠️ Working with Them

Cutting: Score with a hobby knife and snap, or use a fine model saw for precision.

Shaping: Sand the ends with 400–800 grit for points, flats, or lens-like tips. Polish with fine compound for crystal clarity.

Bending: Gentle curves possible with heat (steam, warm air). Don't bend cold — acrylic snaps.

Gluing: CA (superglue) or plastic/acrylic cement. Apply CA thinly — excess can fog the surface near the joint.

💡 Tip: If gluing into a socket on a model, paint the inside of the socket dark — the rod is transparent and you'll see bare plastic underneath otherwise.

⚠️ Honest Heads-Up

🔸 Rigid, not flexible. These are solid acrylic — they hold their shape permanently but won't survive repeated bending. They're for static elements, not poseable wire.

🔸 Scratches show. The glossy surface can scuff during rough handling or heavy sanding. Fine sanding is fine, but aggressive work will frost the surface (which some people actually want for a diffused glow effect).

🔸 CA fogging. Superglue vapour can cloud acrylic near the joint. Use small amounts and let it cure with good ventilation.
