Gibson J-45 Cherry Sunburst 1961 (1961) (no260220)

[Vintage] Gibson J-45 Cherry Sunburst 1961sThis 1961s J-45 in Cherry Sunburst finish has faded, but retains a deep reddish edge! The adjustable saddle was introduced as an option in 1956. It became the default specification from 1962, but both specifications were mixed from 1956 to 1966. Only 1,381 1961s J-45s with adjustable saddles were produced. Only 283 were with standard saddles, making this an extremely rare instrument! While adjustable saddle models are stamped "J-45 ADJ BRIDGE" on the back strip inside the soundhole, this particular guitar only has "J45" stamped on it. Compared to adjustable saddles, string vibrations are transmitted more directly to the top, resulting in a more natural sound.

Regular neck with a nut width of approximately 43mm. The neck shape is thin.
Although there is some deformation in the top plate, the appropriate string height is maintained. However, some bends are noticeable depending on the position, so we recommend filing the frets.
There are dowel marks on both sides of the bridge.
A crack in the top center has been repaired and patched.
The end pin has been replaced with a wooden conversion type, evidence of a pickup installation.
An additional strap pin has been installed perpendicular to the body above the neck heel.

A thinly lacquered pickguard with a single-ring rosette. A rare spec found only in the early 1960s!

This is an extremely rare J-45 in the history of J-45s, produced from 1942 to the present!Includes a third-party hardshell case.
