Commemorative Dish: Bowdoin College 1947, Mass. Hall Fireplace by Wedgwood

The Commemorative Dish by Wedgwood commemorates Bowdoin College's 1947 Mass. Hall Fireplace. Made in the United Kingdom, this original piece features a theme centered around colleges and universities. Made in England by Wedgwood, of Etruria & Barlaston, the plate also has embossed "Wedgwood 1 E 55"   Presuming this was actually made in 1955.   The off-white ironstone plate is decorated in a black transferware, (Gray) depicting the Massachusetts Hall Fireplace of 1802, Bowdoin College 1947.

The emblem on the front on the top reads:  "Sicillum 1794 Bowdoin College"   The bottom emblem reads:  "UTAQUILAVERSUS CCELUM".

Size:  6" Diameter (Bread Plate)

Condition:   Suffers from a hairline which is faint on the front, and on the rear it is discolored and has a radiating spiderline which appears to be in the glaze.    Please review photos for additional description.
