The MTA’s Queens Bus Network Redesign is a major overhaul of one of the nation’s busiest bus systems, aiming to make service faster, more reliable, and easier to navigate. Approved after years of planning and community input, the redesign expands the network to 124 routes, including new “Rush” services that combine local and limited-stop travel, while improving connections to subways, the LIRR, and airports. Rolled out in two phases in summer 2025, the plan features better stop spacing, more frequent service on key corridors, added overnight options, and clearer route designations. By streamlining routes and expanding access, the redesign is expected to cut travel times, provide more equitable service to underserved neighborhoods, and improve connections across the borough.
