1 1/8" Quilted Texture Victorian Era Button

This was rescued from an old wooden box containing an assortment of sad, rusty and green buttons, along with teeth, old screws, and an old civil era coin. This button was gently cleaned because of its original state, and then a protective coat of renaissance wax added. I suspect long ago, it once had an enameled finish - but it has since long worn off except for a possible reddish/purple tone in the deep crevices.
