Renault R8 Gordini cylinder head
Does not fit 1108 cc but seems correct for 1255 or 1289 cc.
I have a 1108 cc Gordini engine and bought this in a flea market as a spare. When measured at the machine shop, the cylinder spacing and valve dimensions are different from my engine. That leads me to believe this is a 1255 or 1289 cc head.
I do not have parts books for those engines so I cannot be certain based on the part numbers which engine this fits but the numbers appear to match other 1255/1289 cylinder heads online.
Other than measuring valves and the thickness of the head 72.07mm, we didn't dig any deeper because this was not going to fit my engine.
Look at the photos closely! The cylinder head is clean and appears to have been machined previously. I did not check valve fit or clearances. There is a full set of rocker stands, arms and pivots in the bags of parts. I do not know what condition they are in.
There is an extra set of valves. These came out of my 1108 engine - they will not fit this cylinder head but they are Gordini valves so if you can use them, they are part of the package.
I did not crack test the rocker cover. But, it is a good Gordini rocker cover.
My engine is fully rebuilt and working fine so it is time to let this go. I can tell you from experience, these parts are hard to come by and the head is far more complex to rebuild correctly than one may assume.
This will ship with insurance so expect shipping to be pricy. If you prefer pick-up in person, let me know before paying. I will accept a $300 deposit through eBay and the balance in cash at pick-up.
