The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám is an 1859 translation from Persian to English by Edward Fitzgerald of a selection of quatrains (ruba’iyat) attributed to Omar Khayyam (1048–1131), dubbed "the Astronomer-Poet of Persia".

This is a compact edition (19 cm x 11.5 cm).  It contains striking artwork by Jeff Hill, with black-and-white pictures as well as red borders for the text. It contains the text 'Rendered into English Verse' by Edward Fitzgerald, but no introduction or commentary.

At the time of listing, we have around 30 different copies of this seminal work listed on our ebay site for sale.  They have all been donated (from a private collector) to raise funds for the Vale and Downland Museum in Wantage.

If you would be interested in purchasing more than one, and making offers, or combining postage, for instance, please do get in touch.  Do bear in mind, however, that we are a Charity and our aim is to raise the maximum from this incredible donation to support our work and keep preserving our past for the future.
