$20 certificate from the Bellingham Clearing House Association. Made to combat the 1907 financial crisis, these certificates functioned as scrips for the citizens of Bellingham, enabling them to continue using money as a medium of exchange when there wasn't enough money in circulation due to the crisis. It measures 7 1/4” x 3 1/8” and is cut cancelled.
The certificate is in good vintage condition. There are creases and folds present across the item. There is also discoloration and minor wear present. The certificate is missing a triangular section from its right side because this is how it was cancelled. Please refer to photos for more information on the condition. ^T^
