3 piece shell pack + 2 hard cases for the toms. I bought this kit off an American chap who imported it into the UK. He also said that it had been played at the famous Whiskey Agogo, in LA. This is a beautiful black oyster pre-Collectors kit from the late 1980s - early 1990s, with black and gold matching badges. There's no date stamps as you see in modern dw kits, and nor is there a note stamp if you believe in that sort of thing. This is normal for the age of the kit. However, there are serial numbers tamped inside the shells.
These drums have been verified by dw and are confirmed to be Keller shells, recognised by the bearing edges and reinforcement rings. All shells are in good condition; clean inside and good bearing edges.
There are sign of ageing and ware on the wrap, such as the edges pulling away from each other at the joins, leaving a 5mm gap on the 14" tom, and some pealing on the bass drum hoops. This is due to the plastic shrinking and the glue failing. None of the wrap seems to have broken off. None of this is really visible from the audience' view and nor does it detract from the sound, which is great, as you'd expect.
What's included:
Bass: 22" x 18" (Powerstroke batter head, almost new, white resonant head, as seen in some photos)
Rack tom: 14" x 10" (Aquarian coated head - new) + (RIMS suspension mount) + hard case
Floor tom: 16" x 13" (Pinstripe head - almost new) + (RIMS suspension mount) + hard case
dw heavy duty floor tom stand for the floor tom
N.B. As I understand and confirmed by dw, the kit is such an early model that the RIMS mounts for the toms are original to the kit. Modern dw kits have dw branded mounts. The last three photos shows an ad with RIMS mounts and another late 80s kit with RIMS, which again, confirms all is as it should be. Here is a YouTube video of a similar kit https://youtube.com/shorts/fjrxXIuETR0?feature=shared with RIMS mounts. Happy to answer any questions.
