Inspired by cartoon fodder, Mouse and Kelley created the image for the Grateful Dead’s 1972 European Tour. The enigmatic design is widely recognized, but not completely understood. Of the Kid’s return 40 years later, Stanley Mouse opines: “Trouble comes in many flavors.Ice Cream Kid is in hot water.The jury is out.His only defense is love.” The legend continues as we find the Kid celebrating his 40th anniversary.
