The American Vintage II series accurately recreates groundbreaking electric guitars and basses that changed the history of music. Featuring period-correct body shapes, necks, and hardware configurations, premium finishes, and meticulously crafted pickups voiced specifically for the era, these instruments encapsulate the essence of authentic Fender craftsmanship and tone.

From the late '50s to the early '60s, Fender products dominated the market, and even as the guitar lineup rapidly diversified, the Stratocaster remained at the pinnacle of popularity. In 1961, the Stratocaster took on a more refined aesthetic, featuring a more vibrant red with bold black trim in the 3-Color Sunburst finish, and a 3-ply pickguard that accentuated the Stratocaster's curves.

The American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster features three Pure Vintage '61 Stratocaster pickups and a 1961 "C"-shaped neck with a 7.25-inch-radius slab rosewood fingerboard, recreating the tone and feel of the original 1961 model. Other premium features include a Pure Vintage Synchronized Tremolo with a cold-rolled steel block and bent-steel saddles, Fender Deluxe tuning machines, and a 3-ply pickguard.

Developed to celebrate Fender's iconic guitar shape, the American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster features an alder body and two nitrocellulose lacquer finishes: Olympic White and 3-Color Sunburst.
