Rare Authentic Original French Circa 1900 Edwardian Thin 18K Solid White Gold Marine Necklace Chain ⛓️ Fully hallmarked with three eagles heads, two on the last link connected to the spring ring and one on the loop welded to the spring ring which indicates the chain is composed of solid 18K gold of French origin. Weighs approximately 2.2 grams. Approximately 43 cm (16  14/16 Inches) in total length, and each link being approximately 1.3 mm (0.9/16 of an inch) in length and approximately 1.1 mm (0.6/16 of an inch) at its widest. The terminal insertion ring is approximately 3.25 mm (2/16 of an inch) in diameter, so the inner diameter of the bale of your pendant should be larger than that. Rare to find these authentic original old chains in such lovely condition, the design was so popular that many later jewelers and goldsmith copied it. Always a very good idea to invest in gold, specially in this day and age ! Modern gold chains are not solid 18K gold, but at most 14K gold and mostly hollow and fetching such sums, so these antiques if found in such perfect condition are a great investment, no ?
