5.9gr
22mm
Morris tube competition: "Morris tubes" were removable sub-calibre devices inserted into the barrel of larger-calibre military rifles (such as the Martini-Henry or Lee-Metford) to allow less expensive shooting training on indoor or short-range stands using smaller ammunition, calibre .22 or .297/.230.
Historical background: These competitions were common in the early 20th century, especially in the United Kingdom, as part of an effort to improve the shooting skills of the civilian population and the armed forces, especially around the period of the Second Boer War and before the First World War.
Inscriptions: The medal itself is engraved with the words "INTER-COMPANY MORRIS TUBE COMPETITION", "1910", "WON BY" and "CAPT. LLOVD IBOND E. COY."
