Flying Model Rocket Kit - Rare OOP Quasar One 'Iced Up'
Another rare kit from the
vault.
Long OOP, the kit on sale here is from our own personal collection.
There is information on the Quasar
One Rocket Company below.
Quasar One kits were
extremely high quality, large kits with large full colour decals. Some
reviewers suggested cutting the decals into sections to make application
easier.
Many of these kits use very long bags and the boxes
needed to ship them are large. As a result Australia Post may charge ‘Cubed
weight’ shipping rather than actual weight and postage costs may appear high.
Unfortunately this is completely out of our control.
We are offering a number of rare
Quasar One kits over the next months. One they’re gone, they’re gone!

History: Many
of you will never have heard of Quasar One Custom Rockets. I’ve been a model
rocket enthusiast for 50 years and in all that time I’ve seen less than a dozen
Quasar One kits, some of which are offered for sale here.
Quasar One is a difficult
company to research as many links lead to Quest, Estes and LOC rocket kits called
‘Quasar’, but here’s what we know:
Quasar One Custom Rockets
was a small rocketry company started out by Mike Sunseri in Elk Grove, California in the early 2000s.
By 2009 they were being sold through Apogee Rockets, one of the biggest retail
rocketry names around. Quasar One produced 16 kits of original design as well
as selling kits from Estes and Custom Rocket Company.
Around 2010 Mike sold the inventory and rights to Chet and Terrie of
RC Country Hobbies in Sacramento who produced the kits for a few years.
Again the inventory and rights were sold off, this time to Justin McMurry who sold them again in 2019 for $1,500 to an undisclosed buyer.
We combine postage on all sales. We use recycled or recyclable materials in post packaging wherever possible.
Model rocketry is recommended for ages 10 and up with adult supervision for those under 12. Unless otherwise specified, all models require assembly. Tools, construction and finishing supplies are not supplied. In order to fly, a launch system, model rocket motors and igniters are required. These items are not included with this sale.
Similar to flying a drone, the flying of model rockets is regulated by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. If you are unfamiliar with the current regulations regarding model rocket sizes, launch areas and aircraft, please download and read the CASA pdf.
