Historical Significance

The "Star Map" or "Celestial" theme was highly coveted in the late 1700s, reflecting the Age of Enlightenment's obsession with astronomy and navigation. Finding a verge fusee of this physical scale (61mm) in working condition with its original matching silver furniture is increasingly rare on the open market.
