Vintage disc pendant is an open circle with a naturalistic tree set with five pearls.
We think the pendant dates from the 1970s, so it's unlikely the pearls are freshwater, so we're assuming they're Japanese Akoya saltwater cultured pearls. They're off-round to baroque, champagne-colored, and each around 6.5mm.
The pearls are drilled and attached to the tree with wires that run through the entire pearl and end with little balls, which act as stoppers. There's no glue involved, so the pearls can turn back and forth (and around) the wires, which is a nice touch.
Eytan added a simple round loop bale, soldered shut, with an inside measurement of about 4mm x 5mm.
The back of the pendant is stamped "14K," but if the pendant is American before 1980, it's more than likely it's a little less than "plumb" (58.3% pure gold, which is the same as 14K). We only guarantee gold purity of at least 13.5K. No maker's marks.
Pendant length, including bale: 45mm (1.7")
Pendant width: 34mm (1.3")
Pendant weight: 10 grams
