USS Macon ZRS-5 Zeppelin Flight Cover, Los Angeles, California, July 11, 1934; Julius Hulff "LCDR Herbert Wiley Takes Command" cachet, Ullmann/Mellone's #2 for this date. Condition is as shown in the pics. The cover shows some toning but is in quite nice shape. Ullmann/Mellone's values that cover at $100.00. Shipping in the US is either by first class mail or by first class parcel, depending on value. Shipping and handling for this lot is $5.00. Shipping to Canada is $10.00 and to selected foreign destinations (see list) is $15.00. See my other items for additional Macon, Akron, Zeppelin, Catapult, first flight, Canadian first flight covers, and FDC's. Note on storage and display of #10 covers: Many collectors have a difficult time storing and displaying large covers along with their smaller counterparts. I stumbled onto a simple method I thought was worth sharing. I use BCW 2-pocket pages for smaller covers (pocket size 7.125 x 5.5 inches). The pages are 8 x 10 inches total. BCW also make a 1-pocket page exactly the same size, great for #10 covers - intended for comic books. Both of these are illustrated in one of the photos. They are sold on Ebay and can be obtained for as low as $20 for a box of 100.
Number ten envelopes also fit
nicely (without rotating) on larger pages compatible with many printers and
scanners - 11 x 17, 12 x 18, 11 x 11, or 12 x 12, inch pages.
