This is a very nice, gently used Kenmore sewing machine model number 385.15208400 .This machine was actually made by Janome and the 385 series is one of the best Kenmore series ever made. The machine runs smoothly and is in excellent condition.

This machine was made in Taiwan and it has so many wonderful features. I have been servicing machines for over 25 years and the Kenmore 385 series has always been one of my favorites. It has several built-in stitches and is very easy to operate. You simply turn the dial to get the stitch you want. It has a needle position setting, which allows you to center the needle or move it to the left. It has several stretch knit stitches, which is great when sewing knits. This machine uses a standard rotary bobbin system. Another great feature on this machine is the hinged light compartment which allows you to change the lightbulb and oil without having to get out any tools. It has a built-in accessory tray, which you remove to make it a free arm to allow you to sew, circular items such as cuffs and sleeves. It has a handle to make it easy to take on the road -it also has a built-in thread cutter and a built-in bobbin winder. The bobbin winder on this machine is metal, which is far superior to the plastic ones out there today. The thread spool holders collapse down for safe travel. It has a dual thread capacity, which allows you to do two color sewing when using a double needle, also called a twin needle. In addition to the foot pedal and electrical cord, this machine comes with so many extras. It comes with two extra bobbins, a point turner/ brush, a zipper foot, straight stitch foot and a pack of needles and two needle threaders. All of these accessories fit in the attached accessory drawer.

This machine has been tested, oiled and cleaned. It had very little use and is in great condition. You won’t be disappointed in this wonderful workhorse machine. Another nice feature of this machine is that it is it is lightweight and perfect for taking on the road.
