2nd class semi-pilot carriage type EW IV, category Bt, of the Swiss Federal Railways. ■ In current design ■ Bogies with yaw dampers ■ Open front spoiler for mounting the included coupling ■ With decoder function for switching lights (white/red) for analogue or digital operation With the introduction of long-distance commuter trains from 1996, the SBB purchased 60 semi-pilot cars of type IC Bt. The Intercity pendulums formed with these carriages consist of adapted EW IV intermediate cars, former French baggage cars and Re 460 locomotives. The 62-seater car is based on the concept of the well-known Eurocity carriages. The equipment also includes a compartment for wheelchairs, prams and bicycles and a closed toilet system with bioreactor. The shape of the head and the driver's cab correspond as much as possible to the Re 460 locomotives, which allows for a homogeneous appearance.
