🚫 No Excess Mess

Tube cement often squeezes out when you press parts together, creating strings and puddles that mar details. Brush application uses minimal cement – just enough to wet the joint surface. The result is clean assemblies without cement squeeze-out destroying surface detail.

🎯 Two Application Techniques

• Method 1 - Pre-application: Brush cement on both surfaces, wait 10-15 seconds for slight tackiness, press together firmly
• Method 2 - Capillary action: Hold parts together in final position, touch joint edge with brush – cement wicks into the seam automatically

Method 2 is preferred for tight-fitting parts and produces the cleanest results.

❌ Does NOT Work With:

• Resin (polyurethane resin miniatures) – use superglue instead
• Metal (white metal, pewter) – use superglue or epoxy
• Rubber/Flexible materials – cement won't melt these
• Glass – needs proper glass adhesive
• Wood – use wood glue or PVA
• Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) – resistant to solvents

💡 Quick Test: If you're unsure if plastic cement will work, test on a hidden area or scrap piece. If the surface becomes slightly tacky/soft after 10 seconds, it will work. If nothing happens, use superglue.

✅ For Best Results

• Dry fit first: Always test fit parts before applying cement – you can't easily separate them once joined
• Clean surfaces: Remove mold release with soap and water, dry completely
• Less is more: Thin coat is better than flooding – excess cement can etch surface details
• Hold firmly: Maintain pressure for 30-60 seconds while initial bond forms
• Support if needed: Use tape, rubber bands, or clamps for awkward joints that need to cure overnight
• Wait before stress: Full strength takes 24 hours – don't force joints before then
• Ventilation: Work in ventilated area – solvent fumes aren't dangerous but can be unpleasant

🚫 Common Mistakes

• Over-application: Cement pooling on surface melts details – use sparingly
• Wrong material: Trying to cement resin with plastic cement – it won't work
• Rushing: Not holding parts long enough – they shift before bond sets
• Contaminated surfaces: Oil from fingers prevents proper weld – handle parts by edges
• Old cement: Thickened cement doesn't work well – if bottle content becomes syrupy, it's degraded
• Closed container: Not closing bottle tightly – cement evaporates quickly when exposed to air
