Authentic U.S. Army Model 1910 mess kit dated 1918, manufactured by Landers, Frary & Clark of New Britain, Connecticut — one of the primary suppliers during World War I. Constructed of aluminum with the standard folding handle stamped “U.S. L.F.&C. 1918.” Includes original matching knife, fork, and spoon marked “U.S.,” with period-correct design and patina.

This was standard issue for American troops during WWI and into the interwar years. The two-piece design allowed soldiers to use it as both a plate and frying pan over an open fire.

Why collectors seek it:

WWI field gear was often used hard or melted down during later conflicts, making intact dated examples increasingly scarce. Sets like this — complete and legibly marked — are valued for their connection to the everyday life of U.S. soldiers in the Great War.

Condition:

Solid vintage condition with surface wear consistent with age and service. No cracks or repairs. Functional hinge and locking handle. Original utensil set included.
