Beautiful pair of antique Georgian period old Sheffield plate candlesticks.
C. 1830
Condition: Good order with some copper bleed, as pictured. Small bends to the drip pans. No dings, dents or bends and all aspects are sound and secure. They stand straight and have been cleaned and hand polished and are ready to use.
Punch marked to the front of each foot with the maker's mark: D * S (for James Dixon & Son, Sheffield)
This particular punch mark is for James Dixon & Son (established in 1806). The firm became James Dixon "& Son" in 1823 and then "& Sons" in c1835, so we can date the candlesticks between this period.
