Union Texas Petroleum (UTP) was an independent oil and gas company that was acquired by ARCO in 1998 and subsequently dissolved. The company was known for its exploration and production of oil and gas in domestic and international markets, including operations in the North Sea, Pakistan, and Indonesia. Its assets included offshore drilling capabilities and petrochemical manufacturing.
ARCO acquired Union Texas Petroleum in a deal valued at $3.3 billion in 1998.
