This vintage Sheaffer Balance fountain pen was made in the USA in the 1930s and bears the company's iconic White Dot and 1000 MSRP. The cap and body are made of striated green celluloid, and the trim is gold-filled. The maker's mark is complete and clear. There are no personalizations, no chips, cracks, noticeable scratches, or bite marks. The gold-filled clip, band, and lever show no plating loss (brassing). The pen is 5.5 inches long (standard size) and has a 14-carat gold, two-tone Lifetime nib and a lever-actuated filling system. The pen fills well with ink, and the firm nib writes smoothly and consistently (see sample). It has been completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, serviced including new ink sac, reassembled, adjusted, and gently polished by hand. The parts fit together well, no stuck parts or stripped threads. This pen is in exceptional condition and could well add to your collection or become an everyday companion.
