"The Technical Repository; containing Practical Information on subjects connected with Discoveries and Improvements in the Useful Arts. Illustrated with Numerous Engravings. By Thomas Gill. .... A very remarkable early 19th century volume, the impressive lists of significant stockists listed above suggesting a wide and important readership. I have photographed the Index pages to show the variety of subjects covered. The wide range is in itself of interest.

Here are just a few examples:
Bank-Notes, Perkins and Co., on preventing forgery of.
Gibson's self-acting circular saw.
Gun-barrels, twisted, to make.
Hydraulic Orrery (Busby's).
Internal Ear, Gibson's cast of the, in fusible metal.
Jappaned paper, manufacture of.
Opium, British, Young on collecting (see photo).
Barlow on the Variation of the Compass from the influence of Ship's Guns and other iron.
Printing Pottery, improvements in.
Spawn-bricks for mushrooms, Rogers on making.
Steam, fatal explosion from.
Varley, on making hard black-lead drawing-pencils.
Varnishes, for lackers, wood, for embossing steel, etc.
Ventilating coal mines, Ryan on.
Water of the river Seine, on purifying the, at Paris.

The editor notes that some people see the addition of "Articles relative to the practice of Medicine and Surgery ...  foreign to our object ... we consider the Healing Art as appertaining to Technical Science in numerous instances." So there is "Professor Gibson on Bony Tumours." (see photo of the plate).
There are lists of new patents granted - I noticed a certain "George Stephenson of Long Benton ... for certain improvements in Steam Engines." (see photo).
Much on horticultural improvements, and of course, on engineering in general. An important record of a large range of subjects relating to science in its widest sense, as found at the start of the 19th century.
