This is a colorful opal clam fossil shell from lightning ridge in Australia. There is great detail and color even when specimen is not wet (see photos)

Length of specimen: approximately 2 cm (0.78 inches)

Width of entire piece: approximately 1.8 cm (0.70 inches)

Note: Actual colors of photos are NOT edited, but sometimes exposure or other camera settings are changed. I take pictures either outside in natural sunlight or in a light box, so colors may seem brighter or different from actuality
