This guitar features an analog amplifier circuit that takes advantage of VOX's accumulated amplifier-building expertise. It also features the same rhythm machine functions and effects found in VOX's digital modeling amplifier, the VOX MINI GO.
Since it's equipped with all the necessary functions to produce sound, you can play with just this guitar, eliminating the need for an amplifier or effects unit.
The amplifier section, which is the core of the sound, has been redesigned to match the APC-1's speaker unit, based on the legendary tone of the VOX AC30.
By focusing on analog circuitry in this amplifier section, we have achieved a truly authentic sound.
In addition, the multi-stage gain circuit perfectly reproduces the complex distortion levels found in vacuum tube amplifiers.
The amp-like control section allows for a wide range of sound creation, from clean to crunch to driven tones.
Another unique feature of this guitar is the GAIN knob, which allows you to control easy-to-use overdrive-style distortion, rather than the fuzz-like distortion common to speaker-equipped guitars.
