Hanau Silver & Russian Karelian Birch Wood Chinoiserie Box c.1900 

This is a Hanau hallmarked 935 silver mounted Russian / Finnish Karelian Birch wood box, circa 1900. With later import marks for the British Crown Trade Co. ltd of Birmingham 1936.

Of rectangular form, veneered in richly figured Karelian Birch displaying a marbled grain in warm golden tones. The lid centred by a finely repousse domed Chinoiserie silver medallion. The corners mounted with neo renaissance scrollwork & strapwork.

CONDITION in good order as per images

The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
