Here we have an early Texaco Danny 'O Day Ventriloquist Doll made by National Mask Company way back in 1952.  These early dummies have a lot more charm than some of the later vinyl versions. These early dummies have hand painted features, along with a composition head and hands. His Texaco gas station costume is in very nice shape, and the two buttons are glued on. His shoes are newer and match perfectly! His Texaco patch is a nice paper copy of the original. This Danny has one of the nicest faces I've seen in while! Usually you will find these with the composition heads heavily cracked and split due to improper storage. This Danny has smaller cracks, however he displays very nicely. His jaw was replaced with a later plastic version, but fits and looks great! He has paint loss on top of his head, but if you have the original Texaco hat, that will cover most of it . His pull string moving mouth works and has a new steel spring (instead of a rubber band) for decades of good old-fashioned fun! Sit Danny on your knee and put on a show!
