This unit is in excellent Sonic/ Audio Response working condition.
Re-Tested Sonically for 20+hours after restoration(09/06/25) completed .

Side Panel A/B Switch Support for 8 & 16 Ohm speaker output,
however the "Z-Matic" control will support various 6,10,12,15 Ohm (EURO Philips/Telefunken/Grundig/Saba ect-Radio Speakers that have been Repurposed for

This Fisher 70AZ amplifier (serial number # 51458) is in Very Good cosmetic

condition considering this amp is from 1956-57 era

so it is at least 68years old. We just detailed/cleaned the Chassis & PS/OPT with Flitz

polymer polish and removed oxidation so it shines. All tube sockets have been clean

with CRC QD Electronic Cleaner then with Deoxit 5 as where the A/B Switch and Z-Matic

Pot and Hum Adjustment pot.

The Power Supply( Model T-508-116) and the Output Transformer Model T-508-117) are original with the

OPT(very Ultra-Linear in this Williamson Circuit

amplifier( see pics of graphs) . There are NO dents in both PS/OPT. Only the tops have Scuff marking some

missing original pait.

The 2-Prong power chord is original and ground to chassis.

- Cosmetic's: The transformer casings have their original paint, nice on 4 sides each but both

tops of the PS/OPT are scuffed up on the top side with missing pairt ( see pics )

this was a very common issue with the Fisher mono blocks as the PS/OPT are highest in height

and get scuffed up when moved. If you want cosmetic perfection, just remove tubes, mask off the unit and

repaint both tops of the PS & Opt transformers.

FYI, Cosmetics do not produce sound..We made an initial pass detailing the oxidation off the chassis with Flitz

using Microfiber soft cloth and large cotton Q-Tips. A deep additional Cleaning of the chassis with Flitz is needed

also with a careful repainting the Tops of the PS & OPT.

- Restoration Providence: The amp was slowly brought up on a Variac and sounded good after initial acquisition with the original PIO, Ceramic & Mica caps, & Electrolytics in the Tin Cans & the original (AB=Allen-Bradley)resistors. - However once on the bench we tested all the caps & resistors and found many caps were just over the edge of the spec'ed tolerances and drifting or a few were way out of tolerance by at least 30%. The two PS Filter cans electrolytic's ( C11 A/B 40/40MFD and C12 A/B 40/40 at 450V were replaces as well with NEW high quality <10% tolerance caps . Others replaced are vintage NOS Mallory/Sprague tone caps that we had in stock so the amp should not fail in the near future.

You'll notice that most capacitors and have been replaced ( see all PICS. in detail for providence)

Grounding issues ( Hum, feedback, Microphonics ) are always problematic with Turntables/ Record Players which require proper TT placement / tracking alignment, proper grounding of the ground wire inside the TT for continuity to a verified ground proper grounding source. Tube Shields on vacuum tubes especially in the preAmp section are needed to cancel Radio Frequency(RF-IF) noise and feedback. So there are many things to lean in terms of getting the right setup and sound from a TT Phono stage. Its a labor of Love when you own a Turntable. We have owned, setup * Operated maybe over 400+ turntables over 50+ years and each model has different issues on proper set up.

However once everything is setup properly the audio response from Vinyl is absolutely amazing.
