KAWAI VINTAGE Heit Deluxe late60's Red Sunburst (no250519) "Heit Deluxe" was Teisco KAWAI's export brand, developed for a short period from the late 1960s to around 1970. It was very rare in Japan, making it a rare brand to come across. This guitar is likely a "5-SB." While there are some visible signs of damage, it is in relatively good condition. [Body] Total weight: approximately 2.7 kg. The compact offset body features a unique Heit shape and cut body ends not found in Teisco or KAWAI guitars. The vertically striped red tortoiseshell pickguard is a relatively rare feature for this model. Although there is some damage commensurate with the guitar's age, such as scratches, dents, cracked paint, and dull metal parts, it is in relatively good condition. [Neck] A "Heit Deluxe" brand badge is attached to the headstock. It's unclear whether the model name sticker, which is often found on the back of the headstock, was originally missing. The tuners are open-gear type, and although there is some inconsistency and play, they still function. It's nice to see that the bushings and tuning peg buttons, which tend to break, remain in good condition. The frets are not worn much, but the string height is quite high due to the guitar's construction. The nut appears to have widened grooves filled with adhesive. Nut width: approximately 42.7mm. It features a single pickup, a single-coil pickup that was common in Kawai's restored models from around 1967.
