This is an old traditional Romanian blouse ("ie"), originating from Transylvania, Bihor, and handmade most likely between 1930 and 1960. The shirt is crafted from a thick, handwoven fabric, resembling modern denim, and is adorned with stunning hand-embroidered cotton decorations on the shoulders, cuffs, chest, and ruffles.
This vintage traditional blouse will fit sizes S-M or M, equivalent to German size 38-40, and possibly 42 if you are not very tall. This is because the gussets under the arms have been replaced, which added more looseness to the blouse.
Neck circumference: 36 cm (14.1 in), closing at the back with strings.
Neck to shoulder seam length: 14 cm (5.5 in).
Sleeve circumference at the shoulder seam: 53 cm (20.8 in), comfortable for size M and even L.
Sleeve length from neck (including cuff): 59 cm (23.2 in), finished with a ruffle of 7 cm (2.7 in).
Chest width (armpit to armpit): 65 cm (25.6 in).
Blouse length: 49 cm (19.3 in).
At 60–80 years old, this traditional blouse remains in very good condition, having been professionally restored and cleaned, ready to wear. There are no visible defects on this shirt, making it ideal for collectors or museums as a representative example of a Bihor blouse.
