NT CUTTER is the second largest snap-off cutter manufacturer in Japan after OLFA.

It is a complicated story, but NT CUTTER is also an originator (inventor) of the snap-off cutters along with OLFA.

The famous snap-off blades, which is set as 'de facto standard' for today's utility knives, is originally invented and patented in 1956 by Mr. Okada and also under the name of NT CUTTER, in which he was working that time.

Since Mr. Okada departed NT and founded OLFA in 1967, the patent was held by both NT and OLFA at the same time.

Over the course of time, OLFA became larger (40% share in the world) because of better marketing, but there are certain percentage of people, who sticks to NT rather than OLFA.

From my personal impression, OLFA makes better blades, but NT makes better body. 

You may have seen this cutter knife in past.

Actually, A-300 is originally introduced in 1961 and has been existing as standard knife of NT CUTTER since then over 60 years.

A-300GR is the full metal (aluminum) version of the original A-300 (made of iconic beige plastic) to improve durability.

Because of  the symmetrical tip design, it can be used by both right-handed and left-handed just by flipping the blades over.

The ratcheting action is finer and smoother than the most of OLFAs, so the precise adjustment of blade length to be siticking out can be done easily.

Any 9mm universal replacement blades from OLFA or any other 3rd party can be fitted.

Highly recommended to experience this masterpiece by the "true originator" of snap-off blade knives.
