This listing is for a handwritten family history story that appears to be written by Gayla Atchison, born 1942 in Summerville, Georgia
She was from a poor family and they eventually went to live in Stone Mountain, GA.
This was an estate sale find, I don't have any other info on the family or writer. Not certain if it is fictionallized or accurate, lots of names. dates, locations, and details. Either way it is likely based on actual events.
The notebook starts with 14 pages of what is probably the final draft, then there are pages numbered 5-19 pages of a draft of the same story.
Lots of family drama, money problems, etc. I would guess this notebook was written in the 1980s or 90s based on the notebook itself.
This manuscript was written in a Stuart Hall notebook (10.5 x 8.5 inches). Cover is creased, spine is damaged. Several sheets are loose. See photos. Writing is in cursive but perfectly legible.
An interesting item for any Manuscript collector or Georgia family history collector.
