Here's one of the harder-to-find Eisenhower campaign flashers, in its 2 7/8", metal backed design with the ring around his image. You lenticular flasher collectors know that most of these pins started being seen in the 1952 election and had plastic backs with Vari-Vue, Cine-Vue or other maker's names printed on them. Consequently, there are a few Goldwater metal backed examples from 1964, but darned few others which weren't plastic.
Actually, this design, with that most famous of presidential campaign slogans, "I Like Ike," was also made in a 2 3/8" size but that style doesn't have the blue ring around the outside and is A LOT harder to find than this type. And it's ironic that no maker's name can be found on these.
We figure this is from Ike's 1952 first run for the top job because there are some 1956 Ike flashers which say: "I Like Ike" with the word "Again." But we weren't around then to know for sure, and we've been wrong before. Just ask our wife.
