I know how people get used to specific appliances - especially when they're something as important as coffee-related ones. My cousin has a ridiculously huge espresso machine that he's spent thousands of dollars on, and he is still using a $30 Capresso blade type grinder. He's gone through about 3 of them in the last 5 years, mostly from dropping them and busting the bases off...I just sent him one a couple weeks ago from Amazon...but, I digress.  My point was going to be - if this is the kind of grinder you've gotten used to, here is one. A great spare, or if the timing is right, a great replacement.

-Starbucks Model 380 burr coffee grinder. Adjusts from 1-7. Complete and tested. Stuff box cord storage in base. Nicely-designed.

I don't recall if I ever used it, but I just tested it and it runs up smoothly. The grind adjusting wheel works.  I tried to tap all the old coffee out of it, but it's still coming out of there.  I'd recommend giving it a good cleaning, and running some rice through it to help flush out the old coffee. I've done that with a few in the past and it seems to work pretty well.
