Absolutely beautiful copy of the famed original 1968 edition of the Modigliani retrospective with text by Alfred Werner, published by Abrams as part of the Library of Great Painters series. 48 color glossy reproductions of his paintings are attached inside, many of them portraits of famous people of his day, including Jean Cocteau, Diego Rivera, Picasso, Marguerite, and so on. Absolutely beautiful edition. Clothbound with dustjacket. All is in almost pristine condition. The dustjacket has only the slightest signs of shelfwear, barely. No rips or wrinkles. The book itself is completely pristine inside and out, with only one flaw, which is that the first reproduction, his self-portrait, has come loose. Not damaged at all, but this one picture was originally covering the text, and the reader is intended to lift the picture to read it. On many copies this picture has come loose because only a couple of liftings are enough to dislodge it. It can easily be reattached if you like. No damage at all. Truly this is a top, top copy. Impossible to beat.
