Eytan of Eytan's Designs has almost fifty years' experience designing, selling, buying, repairing, refashioning & appraising jewelry.  In January, 2019 we started the slow but satisfying process of listing Eytan's inventory on-line so that he can semi-retire and focus more on custom designs.  Please check back as we're listing new items every week -- all fine jewelry in a range of styles and all priced with an emphasis on fairness and realism!

Eytan made this one-of-a-kind pendant from a scalloped 14K gold cameo frame.  The cameo, not particularly nice to begin with, was cracked but Eytan liked the scalloped frame, so he added three posts and set them with three interesting Tahitian pearls.

He chose the pearls for their color combination -- brown, silver and darkest green.  They're off-round and have natural flaws, but good luster and that great color.  They're from our trusted pearl dealer, Seven Seas Pearls, which deals only in saltwater pearls (Tahitian, Akoya and South Sea) -- no freshwater and nothing from China.  We guarantee these are genuine undyed Tahitian pearls

The brown pearl is 8mm, the silver pearl is 9.2mm and the greenie is 11.5mm.

The pendant is 45mm long (including the loop bale) and 27mm wide.  That's about 1-3/4" x 1".

The pendant comes with a matching pearl necklace, but it's removable, and if you wish to purchase either item separately, just send us a message and we'll quote you a price.

The necklace is a strand of small (around 5mm) silver baroque Akoya pearls alternating with 5mm multicolored tourmaline heishi (smooth disc) beads.  The pearls are also from Seven Seas and are undyed genuine Akoya (Japanese cultured saltwater pearls).

The necklace is 19" long and has a nice 14K gold (stamped) round filigree box clasp. The clasp is repurposed; the beads and pearls are new.

Weights:

>Pendant weight: 8.4 grams

>Necklace weight: 18.8 grams

>Total weight: 27.2 grams

NOTE:  The pendant is not marked but it tests as 14K gold.  We used acid testing and this pendant was probably made in the 1960s or 1970s, so there's always a possibility that the gold is not actually "plumb" (the full 58.3% purity of 14K gold).  Since acid testing can't differentiate between gold that's 14K and gold that's, say, 13.5K, we will only guarantee that the gold is at least 13.5K (56.25% pure).  It is not plated, rolled or filled.

ALSO:  This pendant doesn't really have a "front" or a "back" but Eytan did orient as many of the pearls' surface flaws as he could in one direction, which you could call the "back."  See the photo with the black background for this view.
