This is a front cabinet support piece kit to replace any missing front leg on a Silvertone radio model 4572. It was carved by a local furniture restorer in a trial run. He sold me the final piece but gave me this beta specimen as well. It is really just as good as the piece he sold me with the exception that there is a very thin veneer layer on the bottom that no one will see once installed. It's not necessary to spend $60 or more to have a local furniture restorer fabricate this piece. This will do just fine.

Included is a new felt slider (same size as original) along with the two sizes of nails required for the job. You will need two of the larger nails installed diagonally from each other to fasten the piece. You will need one smaller nail to secure the slider at its center because the self-stick adhesive may not be strong enough to stay under all conditions. I included extra nails in case one gets lost or destroyed.

This part should fit all Silvertone 4572's, regardless of chassis number. The model was manufactured for Sears by two different companies, Stewart-Warner and Colonial Radio. Their chassis are different but the cabinets are the same.
