Why Clecos?
Clecos provide a fast, repeatable, and secure way to temporarily clamp metal sheets during test fitting, welding, drilling, or riveting. Think of them as reusable, spring-loaded rivets that help you maintain precise alignment without permanent fastening
How They Work:
- Align your sheet metal panels.
- Drill a 1/8″ hole through both layers.
- Use Cleco pliers to compress a Cleco pin.
- Insert the pin into the hole and release to lock it in place.
- Repeat as needed along the joint.
- To remove, simply compress again with the pliers and extract.
The included 1″ copper clamps grip sheet edges where Cleco pins aren’t needed, and are activated using the same pliers.
Clecos are reusable and come in a variety of sizes, with 1/8" (copper) being the most commonly used in aviation and automotive applications. Here's a quick guide to the common colour codes:
