Rigid hardtail frame raw steel rear section is 1957 style replica
construction with components featuring the factory details of the
period.
The rear transmission mounts are 2" from the bottom cross
beam to the top of the plate. May be used to repair 1948-1957 FL rigid
frames or as a hardtail conversion on 1958-1984 FL frames. This rigid
hardtail rear frame section includes: rear engine mount, center post,
front transmission mount, transmission cross strap, spools, rear axle
plates, fender cross tube, tool box mount, oil tank mount, lower fender
mount, footboard tabs, as a welded assembly as pictured. Accepts 4 speed
transmission mount plate, 1947-1957 mechanical rear brake
components, and a 1948-1984 FL or FX front frame/neck section. The axle
slots are 7/8" on both sides.
*NOTE: Installer/fabricator will have to
salvage existing top tank tube, or provide a new one. Seat post and a
wrap around oil tank can be installed as original. Includes cross shaft
bushings installed with cross shaft. Rear axle assembly accepts star hub
wheels.

Installation Instructions:
1. Place new rear section along side frame and mark area to be removed.
2. Cut away section and leave approximately one inch extra
3. Without alignment pin fit rear section to frame
4. Place transmission mounting plate on frame with this as a guide to fine tune cuts.
5. Insert alignment pin and refit
6. Insert seat post bushing, a good idea to ream seat post bushing.
7. Weld all areas
8. Use sleeves to fill areas to get a full weld at joints.
