The Alarm.com ADC-SEM210-PS-VZ Verizon LTE Dual-Path Communicator allows a DSC PowerSeries Alarm Panel to connect with the Verizon LTE Cellular Network for alarm monitoring. This module is also needed for getting one of these systems connected with the Alarm.com interactive service.

There are many reasons to choose cellular monitoring for an alarm system. The biggest advantage to this type of communication is its overall reliability. Cellular service almost never goes down or becomes unavailable, and it is not affected by power outages. This is not the case with WIFI, as a router needs direct electrical power to function. Cellular connectivity also provides speeds that are generally right on par with WIFI service. As a dual-path communicator, this module will also provide connectivity through a hardwired ethernet connection for added redundancy. If cellular or internet service ever goes down, the panel will automatically switch to the other path to remain monitored.

This particular communicator connects with the Verizon LTE Network. LTE stands for "long-term evolution", and these networks provide excellent speed and dependability. This is important for communicating properly with a central station and for supporting smart home devices. Verizon has stated that they plan on supporting their LTE network well into the distant future. By choosing this communicator, the user is essentially "future-proofing" their DSC PowerSeries System.

An important aspect of this communicator is that it will allow the system to connect with the Alarm.com service. This service can be conveniently accessed at any time through either a web browser or the Alarm.com Mobile App. Once a user has logged-in to their Alarm.com account, they can arm and disarm their system, control Z-Wave smart home device, check the status of security sensors and more. The ADC-SEM210-PS-VZ also serves as a functional Z-Wave controller for the system so that home automation devices can be properly supported.
