I gave 4 stars for heat resistance because the handle gets hot enough that I have to use a towel to remove it from the heat source. And before you ask, the heat source was the same size as the kettle, not larger, so that was a little disappointing, but I still like it. I like that it is clear and super easy to clean. Pop it in the dishwasher. Much easier to clean than the fancy, attractive ones. There will be no chipping, peeling or scratching of a pretty enamel paint job. 5 stars for durability as it still looks brand new, although I don't use it every day. Maybe once a week. Haven't dropped it or slammed it on anything yet. Yes, it does whistle. You need to remove the top to pour. Great price. I recommend it.

I love this pot for boiling water for my tea. Problem is I had forgotten it on the stove more than once and I have broken it even though it is a whistler. I just don't put the lid on sometimes. Keep an eye on it...and put the lid on!
Looks good but anemic in function

I was looking for something simple and not fussy looking. This is that except it?s not a great conductor of heat so it takes forever for water to come to a boil and then a bit longer after that for it to get enough steam to produce a pitiful little whistle. Even when filling it halfway it took 14 minutes to come to a boil on my gas range. I?d be better off just using a pot.

I use this pot to provide hot water to my french press coffee maker. The whistling allows me to work away from the stove yet know when the water comes to a boil. The handle absorbs a lot of heat so be careful where you place the handle while heating water. If the handle is positioned near the heat it will get very hot so please use an oven glove or other heat insulating technique to grab the handle.

Why does this kettle have a high rating?? I've used it for 2 days so far on my glass electric stove and am disappointed. It's so not worth it, if I have to improvise to get use from a product.- The lid has to be removed before pouring, which causes HOT water to splash on the stove and me! So I'm no longer attaching the lid. I just lay it on top.- You have to wipe the spout after pouring since it's not dripless, so I have to use both a potholder for the handle and a dish towel to wipe off the spout.

This is a great kettle, and is so easy to clean! It looks beautiful in the kitchen too. I bought it to replace a stainless one that I couldn?t clean inside; this is far better.
