INTENDED USE
The Vitamin D Rapid Test Cassette (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) is a quick test used at the point of care to semi-quantitatively detect vitamin D levels in whole blood, serum, or plasma.
SUMMARY
Vitamin D has been known since ancient times and was first linked to rickets in the 1600s. In the early 1900s, researchers discovered that rickets is caused by a lack of vitamin D, which the body can produce through sunlight exposure or get from foods like cod liver oil. Though now known as a hormone, vitamin D was historically classified as a vitamin due to its discovery through diet. Studies later confirmed that sunlight helps the skin produce vitamin D, which is essential for healthy bones and overall health.
