This is a beautiful unique ring.  It would work well as a cocktail, dinner, every day, anniversary or even an engagement ring.  This stone is a gorgeous shade of very dark purple with a sort of wide rounded triangle cut.  It has not been tested but it is believed to be a Purple Spinel, it is darker than amethyst and more purple than garnet.  The setting is marked 14K Sterell.  This ring has been recently polished to a high mirror shine.  It has that nice glow and luster that only real gold can give.  The design is sort of abstract and whimsical, typical of the MCM Mid Century Modern style popular in the 1950’s and 1960’s.  This ring weighs a total of about 5.9 g.
