Karl Moon also did the other illustrations in color and b/w. Grace Moon was an American children's author, publishing many works on Native American themes. Her most notable work was Runaway Papoose, which won a Newbery Honor in 1929. This book was her first published book. In 1911 she married Karl Moon, a painter and photographer of the American Indian. Karl Moon was an American photographer, book and magazine illustrator, painter and writer focused on Native American subjects. He has been called "the imitator of Edward Curtis" and "the last of the great early photographers to go west". 7 ¾” x 10” and 54 pages. Karl Moon illustrated this book with b/w photographs, color drawings and b/w pen and ink drawings. The covers are a bit worn as are the edges and corners. Internally clean, but a bit shaken.
