Description

This is an antique Japanese sword stand (刀掛) made of wood and finished in luxurious nashiji (梨地) lacquer. It features a powerful cloud and dragon (雲龍) motif rendered in gold makie (蒔絵) and enhanced with shimmering raden (螺鈿細工, mother-of-pearl inlay), symbolizing strength, protection, and divine power in Japanese culture.

Crafted during the Meiji period, this compact but striking stand is perfect for displaying a single katana or wakizashi. Though the original wooden box is not included, the detailed decoration and symbolism make it a highly desirable collector’s item.
