DESCRIPTION: TWO PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION WITH A THIRD PARTIAL PIECE THAT COULD BE USED FOR REPAIRS.
FASHIONED OF A SHINING SILK TAFFETA WITH A BEAUTIFUL ETCHED SHELL BUTTON DETAILING IN THE FRONT.
NOTE THAT A 1 1/2 INCH PANEL OF SILK TRIMMED WITH RUFFLES WAS ADDED TO EACH SIDE OF THE CLOSURE BUT COULD BE RESTORED BACK TO THE ORIGINAL FORM. MEASUREMENTS ARE FOR THE ORIGINAL FORM.
SLEEVES FALL LONG WITH MATCHING ETCHED BUTTONS TRIMMING THE CUFF WITH BOTTOM CUFF IN ACCORDIAN PLEATED SILK AND AN INNER BLONDE SPANISH LACE TRIM.
REAR OF THE BODICE HAS A MASSIVE WIRED BOW AT THE BUSTLE WITH THE TAILS HAVING A FRINGE AT THE BOTTOM AND THE BOTTOM IS FULLY PIPED.
POLISHED COTTON LINES THE INTERIOR AND THERE IS A HIDDEN SMALL POCKET AT THE LEFT SIDE SEAM.
THE SKIRT IS LINED IN POLISHED COTTON WITH TIES ON THE INTERIOR FOR ADJUSTING WITH LARGE BILLOWING RUNNING DOWN THE REAR WITH RICH RUCHED RUFFLES RUNNING AROUND THE APRON FRONT AND TRIMMING THE BOTTOM.
HOOK AND EYE CLOSURE IS IN THE REAR.
COMES WITH A MATCHING BODICE FRAGMENT THAT IS NOT PICTURED. CLOSES WITH STITCHED DORSET BUTTONS AND THE SLEEVES HAVE BEEN CUT OFF BUT STRONG USEABLE FABRIC TO MAKE REPAIRS.
CONDITION: EACH UNDERARM SHOWS STAINING WITH SOME STRETCH MARKS SEEN TO THE SILK AND THE RIGHT UNDERARM HAS SOME FADE TO THE SILK AND SOME SPLITTING BEGINNING. THE NECKLINE WAS COMPLETELY ALTERED, IT ORIGINALLY WOULD HAVE HAD A HIGH COLLAR AND THE COLLAR COULD BE HARVESTED FROM THE BODICE PIECE AS IT IS INTACT.
THE SKIRT WAS SHORTENED ON THE INTERIOR POLISHED COTTON AND IF RELEASED IT WOULD EXTEND IT TO THE PROPER 40 INCH LENGTH. THE WAISTBAND HAS SEEN REPAIRS AND I PERSONALLY WOULD REPLACE THE WAISTBAND WITH A PERIOD GROSGRAIN.
THE BOTTOM WOOL BINDING OF THE SKIRT SHOWS SMALL WEAR AND HOLES, HARD TO NOTE AS IS.
